WHY USE AN AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM IN MY HOME?
Although most of our customers begin their search because of allergies or asthma, many soon realize how odors and chemicals can contribute to their respiratory problems.
VOC's (volatile organic compounds), smog, ozone, and fumes can be unhealthy or irritating for anyone not just allergenic and asthmatics. Our activated carbon air purifiers remove up to 99.5% odors and particulate and are particularly helpful to people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), because they adsorb formaldehyde, which is found in carpet, wood paneling, and furniture upholstery. Our air purifiers are very low maintenance, inexpensive and portable.
WHY USE AN AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM IN MY BUSINESS? back to top
Health complaints are increasing since people work in sealed buildings which are, for energy conservation, reliant on complex ventilation systems with the decreased provision of fresh air and which use synthetic building materials. Increases in the cost of energy in recent years have made energy conservation in buildings a higher priority for builders and owners but problem associated with indoor air quality have become more widespread.
Our purifiers had been specifically developed to improve the air quality of autobody paint shops. However, every business including hair salons, pet stores, fitness centers, et cetera, would benefit with this system.
Air Filtering Innovations activated carbon filters help to adsorb offensive odors and particulate that could aggravate the staff as well as the clientele.
This is the same technology used for military gas masks that helps keep the personnel safe. Our air purifiers are very low maintenance, inexpensive and portable.
WHAT TECHNOLOGY DO YOU USE TO FILTER THE AIR? back to top
We use a custom specified virgin activated Coal based carbon, (CKV4). Activated carbon includes a wide range of amorphous carbon-based materials exhibiting a high degree of porosity and an extended surface area. In simple terms, this means that it has excellent adsorbent characteristics that make it very useful for a wide variety of filtration processes including air and water. A pound of highly activated carbon has a surface area approaching 140 acres.
DO YOUR SYSTEMS PRODUCE/OMIT OZONE? back to top
No they do not. Consumer Reports says, "ozone generators should not be where people are." Grammatically incorrect, but still a good warning. It means they are fine for industry, but not for people.
The Air Resource Board of California and Health Canada recommends that ozone generators, air cleaners that intentionally produce ozone, not be used in your business or home. Ozone is a gas that can cause health problems, including respiratory tract irritation and breathing difficulty.
WHY USE ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS? back to top
- excellent odor reduction
- best technology for removing chemical contaminants
- well regarded in scientific and medical communities for its effectiveness
- cost effective to purchase, maintain, and operate
SHOULD I USE A HEPA OR ACTIVE CARBON FILTER? back to top
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresting) filters have a high efficiency at arresting, or capturing particles. HEPA is a type of air filter. Many people often mistake this, believing it to be a brand or manufacturer and this is not true. It is important to note that HEPA is a type of air filter and is used to eliminate airborne allergens.
True HEPA air filters are effective in capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns. Activated carbon filters are ideal for adsorbing gases and odors that are too small to be trapped by a HEPA filter. "Adsorb" is not a typo; "adsorption" occurs when materials attach through a chemical reaction. Odors and gases include smoke, various toxins and gaseous pollutants like indoor pesticides or aerosols. Also note that standard filters are not certified. A certified HEPA filter must pass stringent government standards in order to be qualified as a certified HEPA filter.
